Terms of Service
Last updated October 2026. Questions: [email protected]
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and 1001613708 Ontario Inc., an Ontario, Canada corporation that operates Session Edits ("Session Edits", "we", "us", "our"). They cover your use of sessionedits.com, the Session Edits portal, any Session Edits app, and the editing service we provide (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, starting a subscription or uploading footage, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund & Cancellation Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Questions: [email protected].
1. Plain-language summary
This summary helps you read the Terms. It isn't a substitute for them.
- You upload raw tattoo-session clips. We turn them into finished short videos, usually in about 48 hours. That's a target, not a guarantee.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month (or each year on an annual plan) until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the portal. Monthly plans stop at the end of the month you're in.
- Asking for changes to an edit doesn't use up another edit.
- You must own the footage and have each client's consent to film them and to post the finished video.
- You own your finished edits, even after you cancel. We never post for you, and we only use your work in our marketing if you opt in.
- Our editing uses AI tools, and a person reviews every edit before you get it.
- The music in your edits is cleared for organic posts on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. It isn't licensed for paid ads or for use outside the edit.
- Ontario law applies.
2. Definitions
- Account: your Session Edits login and the studio profile attached to it.
- Footage: the video, photos, audio and other material you upload, plus any notes, captions, logos or instructions you give us.
- Edit: a finished video we make from your Footage, together with its cover image and caption text. A timelapse is an Edit made from a full session or multi-session piece.
- Plan: the subscription you choose (Solo, Busy Artist or Studio) and its monthly allowance of Edits.
- Studio Account: an Account on the Studio plan that several artists share.
- Client: anyone who appears in your Footage, including the person being tattooed.
3. Who can use the Service
- You must be at least 18 years old and the age of majority where you live.
- The Service is for tattoo artists and tattoo studios using it for their work. If you sign up on behalf of a studio or business, you confirm you're authorised to bind it to these Terms, and "you" includes that business.
- You must give accurate sign-up and billing information and keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done through your Account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
Studio Accounts
On the Studio plan, the account owner can invite other artists. The Plan's Edits are shared across everyone in the Studio Account. The owner is responsible for the members they invite, for their compliance with these Terms, and for removing members who leave. Every member who uploads Footage gives the promises in section 9 for that Footage. Edits made in a Studio Account belong as described in section 11.
4. The Service
What we do
You upload raw clips through the portal. We make vertical short-form Edits for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook, with captions, a cover image and music, styled to the style profile you set. You can approve each Edit or request changes, then download it and post it yourself.
AI-assisted editing with human review
Our editing pipeline uses software, including artificial-intelligence tools provided by third parties (currently the Anthropic Claude API), to help choose clips, plan the cut, write captions and check quality. A person at Session Edits reviews every Edit before it's delivered to you. AI tools can make mistakes, such as a misspelled caption, a wrong detail about the piece or a missed face blur. Please watch each Edit before you post it. Section 12 and our Privacy Policy explain what data the AI tools receive.
Turnaround
We aim to deliver each Edit about 48 hours after you finish uploading the Footage for it. This is a target, not a guarantee. Busy periods, very long or unusual Footage, holidays, technical problems and revision requests can take longer. If we can't deliver an Edit at all, we credit it back to your allowance (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy).
Changes to the Service
We may improve, change or stop features of the Service. If we make a change that materially reduces what your paid Plan includes, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel. If we stop the Service entirely, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
5. Plans, allowances and payment
Plans
| Plan | Price | Included each billing month |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | US$49 / month | 4 Edits |
| Busy Artist | US$99 / month | 10 Edits and 1 timelapse |
| Studio | US$199 / month | 25 Edits shared across the studio, multiple artists, studio logo end card |
Annual plans cost the same as 10 months of the monthly price ("2 months free") and are billed once a year. Plan features and prices shown at checkout apply to your subscription.
Allowances
- Your allowance resets at the start of each billing month, including on annual plans (an annual plan includes the monthly allowance each month).
- Unused Edits don't roll over to the next month and have no cash value.
- An Edit is used when you submit Footage for a new Edit. If we cancel a job or can't deliver it, the Edit goes back into your allowance.
- Revision requests don't use an Edit (see section 7).
- Extra Edits beyond your allowance are available only if we offer them in the portal, at the price shown there.
Payment and taxes
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card details. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment processing.
- Prices are shown before taxes. We're registered for GST/HST in Canada and charge sales tax where it applies, based on your billing location. Taxes appear on your invoice.
- You authorise us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method for each renewal, any plan upgrade and applicable taxes.
- If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it. We may pause new Edits until the payment is fixed, and we may cancel the subscription if it stays unpaid. You keep the Edits we've already delivered.
Price changes
We may change Plan prices. We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription, and it takes effect at your next renewal after that notice. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
6. Automatic renewal and cancellation
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel.
- How to cancel: in the portal under Billing (the cancel button opens Stripe's billing page), or by emailing [email protected] from your account email. Cancelling online takes only a few clicks and doesn't require talking to anyone.
- Monthly plans stop at the end of the billing month you're in. You can keep using that month's remaining Edits until then. No contract and no cancellation fee.
- Annual plans stop at the end of the annual term. We'll email you a reminder before each annual renewal.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- After your subscription ends, you can still sign in to download your finished Edits for 30 days (section 15).
7. Revisions
- After an Edit is delivered, tap "request changes" and tell us what to fix, for example the hook, a clip, the order, the caption or the music. Revisions to an Edit don't use another Edit from your Plan.
- A revision changes the same Edit using the same Footage. Asking for an Edit built from different or substantially new Footage, or a completely different concept, counts as a new Edit.
- Please send revision requests within 30 days after delivery. After that, raw Footage may have been deleted under our retention schedule, and we may not be able to make changes.
- We'll make reasonable revisions in good faith. If revision requests on an Edit go beyond what's reasonable (for example, many rounds that reverse earlier choices), we may ask you to submit it as a new Edit.
8. Your Footage
- Only upload Footage that follows our Acceptable Use Policy.
- If a Client wants to stay anonymous, tick "blur faces" for that job and we'll blur faces, or crop them out, in every shot. Tell us about anything else that must be hidden, such as names, screens or identifying marks. Automated blurring can miss a frame, so check the Edit before posting.
- Keep your own copy of your Footage. We delete raw Footage on a schedule (see the Privacy Policy) and don't back it up.
- We may decline, pause or stop work on any Footage that breaks these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or that we reasonably think could harm a Client, you, us or others. If we decline a job for reasons other than your breach, the Edit goes back into your allowance.
9. Your promises about Footage and consent
Each time you upload Footage, you promise that:
- You own the Footage or have every right needed to upload it and to let us use it as these Terms describe, including rights in any artwork, logos, designs or audio in it.
- You have the consent of every identifiable Client in the Footage, in a form valid where the session took place, to (a) be filmed, (b) have the Footage processed by Session Edits and our service providers to make the Edit, and (c) have the finished Edit posted publicly on social media and anywhere else you plan to use it.
- You'll honour any Client's request to be anonymous (for example by ticking "blur faces"), and you'll tell us about any limits a Client has placed on their consent.
- The Footage doesn't show anyone under 18 except as the Acceptable Use Policy allows, and it doesn't break any law or anyone's rights.
- You'll keep a record of each Client's consent for as long as you use the Edit, and give it to us if we reasonably ask (for example in response to a complaint). Our printable client consent form is one way to do this.
We rely on these promises. We don't contact your Clients or check their consent ourselves.
10. The licence you give us
You keep ownership of your Footage. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, analyse, edit, transform, combine with music, text and graphics, and display your Footage, and to do the same with the Edits, only as needed to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Service for you. This includes letting our service providers (listed in the Privacy Policy) process it on our behalf.
This licence ends when the Footage and Edits are deleted under our retention schedule or at your request, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain for a short time in backups before they're overwritten.
We don't use your Footage or Edits to train AI models, and we don't let our AI providers use them for training.
"Improve the Service" means things like fixing errors in our pipeline and reviewing why an Edit needed revisions. It doesn't include showing your work to anyone outside Session Edits.
Marketing use only if you opt in
We will not use your Footage or Edits in Session Edits marketing (our website, social accounts, ads or sales materials) unless you opt in separately for that specific Edit, in the portal or in writing. When you opt in:
- you confirm that every identifiable Client in that Edit has also agreed to its use in Session Edits marketing;
- we'll credit you by name or handle unless you ask us not to;
- we won't show identifiable Client faces unless you and the Client have specifically agreed; and
- you can withdraw your opt-in at any time by emailing us. We'll stop new uses and remove the Edit from places we control within a reasonable time, but we can't recall copies already shared or reposted by others.
11. Who owns the finished Edits
- You own your Edits. When we deliver an Edit, we assign to you all rights we hold in it, except the items listed below. You can post, repost, download and keep your Edits, including after you cancel.
- What stays ours or our licensors': the music (licensed to you as in section 13), fonts, graphic templates, transitions, effects, our style-profile system, our software and pipeline, and our general know-how. You get a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use these as they appear in your Edits.
- In a Studio Account, Edits belong to the studio account owner's business. Arrangements between the studio and its artists about who can use which Edit are up to them.
- We never post anything on your accounts or your Clients' accounts. You decide whether and where each Edit is posted.
12. AI-assisted processing
- Our pipeline sends limited material to AI providers to plan and check each Edit, mainly still frames, contact sheets, transcripts or metadata taken from your Footage, plus your style profile and notes. We don't send your full raw video files to AI providers.
- AI providers process this material under their commercial terms, which don't permit them to train their models on it.
- AI tools don't make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects. They help make creative choices that a person then reviews.
- Captions and on-screen text may be AI-drafted. You're responsible for checking them before you post.
13. Music
- Music in your Edits is either created for Session Edits or used under a licence we've obtained. We license it to you for use inside that Edit, posted as organic (unpaid) content on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and your own website and social profiles.
- The music licence does not cover paid advertising or boosted posts, TV, radio or other broadcast, separating the music from the Edit, or using it in other videos. Ask us first if you need any of these.
- Platforms' automated systems (such as Content ID) sometimes flag cleared music by mistake. If that happens, tell us. We'll give you licence information to dispute it or provide a version with different music or no music, at no cost to your allowance.
- If you add your own audio, such as a trending sound in the platform's app, you're responsible for that audio and for following the platform's rules.
14. Acceptable use of the Service
You agree not to: break the law using the Service; upload Footage that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy; share your login outside your Plan (on non-Studio Plans, one artist per Account); resell Edits as an editing service to others; try to get around allowances, payment or security; scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the Service; or upload malware.
15. Suspension and termination
- You can close your Account at any time in the portal or by emailing us. Closing your Account cancels your subscription as described in section 6.
- We may suspend or close your Account, or refuse a job, if you materially break these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your payment remains unpaid, if required by law, or to protect Clients, other users or the Service. Where reasonable we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. We may act without notice for serious breaches, such as non-consensual or illegal Footage.
- If we close your Account without cause, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
- After your subscription ends, you can sign in and download your Edits for 30 days. After that we delete your Footage and Edits under our Privacy Policy. Please download anything you want to keep.
- Sections that by their nature should continue (including 9, 10 for retained copies, 11, 13, 17–20) survive termination.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including Clients' images in Footage. For Footage, you decide what to upload and why, and we process it to provide the Service to you.
17. Disclaimers
We provide the Service with reasonable skill and care. Apart from that and any rights you have under law that can't be excluded, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any Edit will reach a particular number of views, followers or bookings, or that a social platform will accept, display or promote any Edit.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Neither you nor we are liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, bookings, goodwill or data, arising from the Service or these Terms.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
- These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and they don't limit your obligations under section 19.
19. Your responsibility for claims about your Footage
You agree to compensate us (indemnify us) for losses, damages and reasonable legal costs from third-party claims, including claims by your Clients, that arise from (a) your Footage, (b) your breach of the promises in section 9, or (c) how you post or use the Edits. We'll tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take part in the response.
20. Governing law and disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
- Before starting a legal claim, please email [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
- Any legal claim will be brought in the courts of Ontario, sitting in Toronto, and both of us accept their jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, and nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of your province, state or country that can't be waived.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll email you and post a notice in the portal at least 30 days before it takes effect. Changes required by law or for security may take effect sooner. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree, cancel before the change takes effect and it won't apply to your current paid period.
22. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the policies they link to are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- Assignment: you can't transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them to a successor in a sale or reorganisation of the business, and we'll tell you if we do.
- Severability: if any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver: not enforcing a right right away doesn't waive it.
- Events outside our control: we're not responsible for delays caused by things we can't reasonably control, such as outages at our providers, natural disasters or widespread internet failures.
- Notices: we'll send notices to your account email. You can send notices to [email protected].
- Language: these Terms are written in English.
